Lakewood, Wisconsin – Nurse Practitioner Holly Spletzer has joined NorthLakes Community Clinic, providing care at the White Lake Clinic and Lakewood Clinic. She sees patients of all ages.

Ashland, Wisconsin – NorthLakes Community Clinic welcomes Behavioral Health Therapist Alexis Carlson to the team providing care in Ashland. Alexis sees people ages nine and older.

As of May 1, 2023 masks are now optional for most patients and staff at NorthLakes.

NorthLakes Community Clinic announced their board of directors has given preliminary approval to pursue providing pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services in Rice Lake. Currently, these services are offered through Marshfield Children’s Rice Lake Pediatric Therapy Clubhouse, which is slated to close in mid-May. The Clubhouse offers a wide range of specialized therapies in a single, child-friendly location that help children with unique developmental needs.

Thanks to an $8,000 contribution from the Charles E. Kubly Foundation, NorthLakes Community Clinic recently purchased a variety of resources instrumental in helping northern Wisconsin youth facing mental health issues. The items purchased through this grant include a wide range of resources focused on building resilience and addressing depression and mental health struggles amongst youth who receive services through NorthLakes’ School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) Program. The program serves approximately 300 children across 20 Wisconsin school districts each school year.  Items purchased with the support of the Charles E. Kubly Foundation include but are not limited to journal and goal planners for teens, workbooks, games, books, and more. These items draw upon kid-friendly language when building emotional identification, provide youth with the tools to communicate needs more assertively, help youth navigate emotions, and more.

The year-long program is virtual and is open to residents throughout the 20,000 square-mile NorthLakes service area and you need not be a NorthLakes patient to participate.  To be eligible, participants must be at least 18 years old and not pregnant at the time of enrollment, overweight with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or greater, have a Hemoglobin A1C of 5.7% to 6.4% or fasting blood sugar of 100 to 125 mg/dl, or have been previously diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Participants may also enroll on the basis of a high-risk score using the ADA/CDC prediabetes risk test at https://bit.ly/DiabetesTestNLCC.

Marinette, Wisconsin – Two Behavioral Health Therapists have joined NorthLakes Community Clinic – Marinette. With the addition of Hayley Nerat, MS, LPC, CSAC, and Jane Moker, MS, LPC, LLP, NorthLakes now provides virtual Behavioral Health services at this clinic. 

NorthLakes Community Clinic and Marshfield Clinic Health System today announced they are in formal discussions to find a way to continue to provide pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services in northwestern Wisconsin.

NorthLakes Community Clinic – Marinette is now offering virtual Behavioral Health Services. This is in addition to the Chiropractic care services it already offers at 2545 Roosevelt Road, Suite 107. The clinic, which accepts most insurances including both Wisconsin and Michigan Medicaid, is accepting new patients for both services. There is also a Sliding Fee Scale available for patients who qualify.  

Massage Therapy is now available at NorthLakes Community Clinic – Park Falls. This service will complement Chiropractic and Behavioral Health Services that are already offered at the downtown Park Falls location. Massage Therapy uses different pressures, movements, and techniques to manipulate muscles and other soft tissues in the body to improve your overall health. Massage Therapy can help provide relief for a variety of conditions including general or chronic pain, tension, anxiety, migraines, constipation, and insomnia just to name a few. Lakewood, Wisconsin – The Leon H. and Clymene Bond Foundation, Inc. generously donated $48,998 toward NorthLakes Community Clinic’s recent purchase and installation of $115,403 in new dental equipment at the Lakewood Clinic.  Installed in mid-February, the equipment has allowed the FQHC to update two doctor operatories and one hygiene operatory. Equipment secured through the Leon H. and Clymene Bond Foundation, Inc. includes dental chairs, three dental X-ray units, three dentists’ stools, and two assistants’ stools.  Lakewood Clinic Manager, Mary Kay Tallier, states that the “upgraded equipment will assist with efficiency and patient care” and she notes that “there is already a noticeable boost in staff morale, with comments of appreciation coming from not only patients but staff as well. Thank you Bond Foundation for your contribution towards helping us invest in addressing the dental needs of the region!”

Hayward, Wisconsin – Sandy Johnson has joined the team providing care at NorthLakes Community Clinic – Hayward. Sandy sees people of all ages for Psychiatric Medication Management, assessing, treating, and diagnosing the mental health needs of people.

Hurley, Wisconsin – The Superior Health Foundation contributed nearly $7,000 in grant funding toward the purchase of medical equipment at NorthLakes Community Clinic – Hurley. The funds helped the FQHC purchase a new exam table, an Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) device for the clinic’s X-ray machine, and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). These items help medical staff address a wide range of issues with patients from Michigan and Wisconsin on a daily basis. 

NorthLakes Community Clinic is pleased to welcome Jay Jevne, PMHNP-BC, APNP, and Karl Ader, LPC, MS, to their roster of professionals providing care to the people in our service area. Both of them are doing so at NorthLakes newly opened clinic in Cumberland which had previously been part of Cumberland Healthcare.

NorthLakes is proud to partner with area healthcare organizations to provide mobile mammogram opportunities in three of our rural communities. This partnership provides our patients with affordable access to a mammogram closer to home. Right now, mobile mammogram services are available in Iron River, Minong, and Lakewood.
