Sam comes from a long background of working with children, adolescents, and adults in clinical mental health settings and as a teacher in traditional and wilderness education. He approaches work with clients from person-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed perspectives. He prioritizes empathy, curiosity, and belief in the client's ability to overcome adversity and promote their own wellbeing. His clinical approaches include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with the priority of focusing on client's needs and expertise to inform treatment.

Sam's personal interests include cross country skiing, dog mushing, and woodworking.
